Your grave mistake is thinking that "white" is a skin colour. The entire point is that it is a social class, and those who have no status can't join that club no matter how bleached their skin is.

Now of course, recently a lot of low class people with white skin are running around pretending they are white. That is just them being losers. Having white skin doesn't make you white, and it certainly doesn't give you status.
