They're LEGO wannabes, but they're actually higher quality plastics, and are mostly fully painted.

The style is pretty weird, since they're a mix between LEGO and Minimate asthetics. I had a good laugh at the pink haired thing that looks like a tranny, but it was pretty well painted despite that.

So to compare McFarlane's SU figures to another toyline, here's Hasbro's 3.75" figure from the Thor movie line.

Here's just the building block set that came with the grape girl.

They're basically adult building blocks so you can make your own highly detailed diorama without the LEGO asthetics (what McFarlane calls the "nipples") getting in the way.
This is compared with McFarlane's Walking Dead set, with MegaBlok figures thrown in.

You can get pretty creative with them as with any lego building set, but most people just build what's on the box.

I really like what McFarlane has done trying to do this own thing with building blocks, because they really are do-it-yourself-dioramas and all the building blocks have little SPAWN logos too.

i'm a little surprised it hasnt caught up with /tg/ considering what you can build, especially with how cheap the darker sets are now.

Here's me buying McFarlane's Five Nights at Freddy's lego sets, which are impressive as fuck.

Never played the game. Think my nephews are shit for playing such a boring looking game. But LOOK AT THIS! I'll probably stick the heads onto my GI Joes and pretend they're robbing banks, but all this fucking detail and paint!

It's tighter fitting and i guess as durable. It's pretty hard to say if it actually is more qualitier, but the paints and colors makes them better. It's not glossy plastic toy looking.

That purple chick has sharp as fuck hair and can draw blood without bending or blunting, so i would definitely call it higher end plastic. But again, it's hard to say if it actually is, since LEGO may purposely be more mindful of sharpness of the molding.

I don't think it works, at least not with that giant pink lady, but the others look alright.
Granted, I'm not a fan of the show and don't even follow it, so someone here should know better than me if the stylization fits.

I think the style fits, but mostly because i like how the faces are show accurate and arent beady eyed funko pop shit. I wouldve prefered if they had made them more show accurate like an articulated version of their GOT sets, but honestly im glad we have articulated figures of SU that have their faces and bodies right. Also, i havent built the set yet, but i got out rose and her accesories and will take some pics if anyones interested

Just finished putting one of these together.
First off a few pieces were the wrong color according to the instructions. Secondly those motherfucking hinges. Thirdly that goddamned fucking fuck of a sink. Fourthly, I just hate stickers. The printed on cabinets look fine, why make me apply stickers and then despise the fact that they're one-billionth of an inch off center?

Still, not a bad price considering the same thing from Lego itself would probably run $30.

Yeah, i don't like the stickers. Feels cheap, but I'm happy with what i got, but I'm not buying them to actually build a kitchen from Steven Universe.
The colors were good on mind, but i think i know what you're talking about. I bought a few Walking Dead sets where the certain pieces came in different shades of brown or green. Pretty weird, but it doesn't really change the asthetics and you only really notice if oyu own multiples of the same sets.

OH, and i know about those fucking hinges, but they're very cleverly done and I may buy another kitchen for them.
