I haven't read any of Whor but I'm a longtime Thor fan and this is truly a great issue.

Look, I understand that, I even see that a a strong character trait, but knowing how things start going later and what the hammer does to her, this feels like a moot point.

I thought the God Butcher/Godbomb arc was pretty overwrought and the high concept was kinda dumb, but the character writing for Thor was fun and it was decent spectacle, and this issue here generated some good will from me, so I'm gonna continue reading it.

Of COURSE Thor is getting the hammer back, the idea that Jane would be taking over permanently is laughable. Honestly, I'd like to have a time machine and travel to 50 years from now and see if Jane's still Thor, because if she is, I'd applaud Marvel, not because I like Jane as Thor or anything like that, but because they actually didn'y revert to the old status quo like always. They will though, it's just a matter of time, maybe it will be by Aaron's hand, maybe it will be the next writer, but it will happen. Clark Kent will always be Superman, Bruce Wayne will always be Batman, Peter Parker will always be Spider-Man, fuck, even Barry Allen came back and took his mantle back.
It's kind of pitiful in a way, although I'd rather not be stuck with Marvel's current sucky legacy characters.

Pretty much my biggest gripe with Jane as Thor, her motivations don't really make much sense, especially as, if I'm not mistaken, using the power is killing her faster. Granted it's been a while since I've read the reveal issue(s), so I might be forgetting something.

I still really like this issue overall and I believe it's the last floppy I got before I stopped buying comics in-store.

That isn't the problem, the problem is why she would not go & take the magic meds after becoming Thor. Since being Thor is so morally important then it should cancel out her previous refusal to take the god meds.
