The Ragorlang arc, Dark mother arc and 100% W.I.T.C.H. are significantly worse than any of the two seasons of the cartoon.

Also, the cartoon version was superior on both the arcs it adapted, considering the first comic arc was an absolute mess due to the original team being kicked out and retcons being made, and most characters being entirely redone, and the second arc was the new guys finding their feet.

Only Issues 1-6 of the first arc , Ari of Arkhanta arc, Trial of the Oracle arc and The Book of Elements arc were better than the cartoon, and the cartoon never got to try to adapt those.

On the other hand, a lot of Protestant churches were much more anti-sexuality. Especially the one known as, you know, the Puritans. Which, incidentally, was one of the first Protestant denominations to be established in North America.

That's why non-Anglo Europeans (and Latin Americans too) are okay with sexy stuff, and Murkans and Brits are all uptight.

It's really very different. The sexual repression people think of when they think about British attitudes wasn't ingrained from puritan roots like in the US - It came from the power of the Anglican church in running learning establishments in the 19th Century. Before this Britain was not a sexually repressed society and it continued not to be among most of the population - it was only the upper and upper-middle classes who were concerned with public decency and morals and the like.

This is very apparent in the "juvenile" sexual humor you mention. Innuendo and bawdy humour were ways for the less repressed lower classes to get things past the censor's eye, they might be met with a look of disdain from the toffs but would fly below the radar enough to not have people calling "outrage"and trying to get them banned. The Carry On films, seaside postcards etc. are examples of that. Orwell's depiction of a repressed middle class and the proles who don't really give a fuck in Nineteen Eighty-Four was and in some ways still is very true, but even the middle classes are much less repressed now. Victorian morality died with Mary Whitehouse.

I don't mind the thick line animation of the show, and I really like the colors they use, but the designs and atmosphere of the comic beats it out on all accounts.

The show doesn't do scenes adapted from the comic as well most of the time. It's alright, but nothing I'd go out of my way to watch when the source material is much better.
