Good episode desu, adamai was not painted as pure evil. Moreover he was painted as being evenhanded and reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise. I hope they never forget it and it turns out to be well-written.

People watched the special and thinks it's great so the rest of the character is great. He's really just an annoyingly voiced character for 90% of the story. Then we get his flashback and a hint of the same in the main season and this is at the tail-end of the story arc. I never got why that would be enough to make the character suddenly go from being annoying to being good. He was never good, since his tragic character gets sidelined until the final episode of the season. Even then he's got no real connection to any of the main characters, he's just an obstacle on their journey.

Mostly valid complaints, but I think there's a far bigger reason people find him good as a villain regardless of his impact on the story or the pacing of it, which is the concept of his character as a whole. Specifically, his morality. Nox is a villain that, by his own consistent logic, literally did nothing wrong. He was accidentally given a bunch of powers which he didn't want, and ended up spending the rest of his life with nothing but trying to undo that. All the sacrifices that he decided to make were only approved by his own morality because he knew that he would reverse it all.

Also, his design, fighting style and time manipulation powers are ridiculously fucking cool. If you can fault the show for one thing in that regard, it's not doing ENOUGH with them.
