It's been years since I've heard any of those names, where does the fucking time go?

He likes making characters, but it sure doesn't seem like he likes actually doing anything with them.
Almost every single one of them is worth someone taking the time to write a long character study, but the only thing he is interested in doing with them is ship baiting and short drabbles that barely have enough time to pay off, let alone actually inform on the characters.

People seem to praise his writing for being efficient and subtle, but I wonder if its just vacuous. I've never gotten anything even slightly profound out of any of it, not even an attempt. I like learning things when I read, even just a new perspective or way of looking at the world, and while the majority of fanfiction writers that even attempt to put something more into their work like that come across kinda juvenile, they do make the attempt. With Weaver's stuff, I can never shake the fact that I'm getting about as much out of it as I do porn.

I love quests too, but lets be honest, he isnt going back to them. The man moves by passion and when its gone, the drives to continue the project banishes with it. Take a look at how many things he started and then abandoned even when there was still audience.

For me boxdog and divequests are the biggest offenders, at least Im glad he finished rubyquest and jumped into fads I liked at the time.

Nan Quest was a cool idea executed poorly. The whole memory fuckery angle was nifty but it didn't really have the same impact that, say, Ruby being shown her murder of Tom did.

I like Weaver's work, I don't believe he hops fandoms intentionally, I think he does just have the same level of autism we all do and latches onto fandoms because he likes them.

He does fanfics because he's not confident he can do anything that can measure up to Ruby Quest and Nan Quest. For us, it was the beginning for him, but for him it was his high point, and instead of trying to make something new that would inevitably be critiqued next to RQ/NQ, he hopped on to fandoms where he could develop new material safely, where it wouldn't matter if he crashed and burned because the nature of fandom would let his failures fade into the darkness within a couple months. Even the original stuff he does like the monster girl roommates relies on people caring less on the actual story and more on people wanting to fuck the girls.
