Between the reviews and this board's coverage of it since it's inception, it was made out to be the film equivalent to AIDS.
It was mediocre and cliche, but it wasn't anything exceptionally repugnant. The visuals were nice.
How many here actually went to see it?

It's a copy of Wreck it Ralph.
Why would you even defend this product placement

Shit bait. I torrented and it was as shitty as we were all expecting, and fuckers trying to be ironic made it make enough money so that we're getting a sequel of this steaming pile of shit.

Explain
I've completely forgotten about this movie until now.

More like half Wreck it Ralph and half Lego Movie.

I would say it's only major flaw is how uninspired it is - just standard animated movie formulas in a pretty package. It capitalizes on the success of trailblazers like the LEGO Movie in a very safe way.
That being all it is though, I don't see what warrants it getting so much hate. I feel like people don't hate the actual movie so much as they just hate the premise. The fact that people were shitting on it since before there was even a trailer is evidence of that.

it was precisely that bad

I don't care if this is bait or not, I FINALLY have a place to post this

I agree with OP. The Emoji Movie, while not a masterpiece is certainly a classic and well worth watching. It definitely moved meto a bigger house.

It was the best movie ever.
It was a giant advertisement for apps with several stupid plot threads and "muh feminism." It was not that bad; It was worse.
>>94950446
Short of the director coming to the showing and kicking you in the nuts while you watch it couldn't be as bad as the reviews suggest.
It's still really fucking bad though
