What went wrong?

>>94950262
Time-Warner having terrible business practices which leads to Cartoon Network hating both WB Animation and DC Comics, which means that the main market for their TV output never gives them a fair shake(Teen Titans Go is an exception to this, but only because CN gets most of the merchandising revenue from it)
>>
>>94950262
CN treating their shows like shit, steven speilberg and the production teams behind things like animainiacs and freakazoid leaving, mostly because kids WB wanted more of anime, and because they focused on hanna barbera and tom and jerry more.
>>
they treat their artists horribly and most of the people who made their popular shows are working at competing studios now.

Not staying in the feature game like Disney did.
WB was arguably as influential as Disney or Fleischer was to the medium of animation.
>>
>>94950512
Meant to say >>94950306 , sorry.
>>94950527
More like around Roger Rabbit, and Disney is trying to demonopoise the company.

In short this.
>>94950306
>>94950383
AT&T is fixing this however.
>>
>>94950306
>>94950337

Once AT&T completes the purchase, this will all change. WB Studios has brand new people as of late last year in part due to the expected merger and that will work it's way down to all their divisions.

>>94950383
This isn't historically true.

Traditional animation has become problematic pretty much everywhere. Dreamworks thought they were going to build a brand new studio, in large part on this, just to end up being buried.

>>94950431
Feature films are the province of the people who want to do CGI, Disney is still in BECAUSE they purchased Pixar, the Disney computer studio that was being put in place when Jobs and Eisner was arguing about Pixar didn't produce anything that was remotely as well received NOR as profitable as even the worse of the Pixar films.

>>94950584
Not sure AT&T will necessarily be better for the working artists. To the extent that whomever is put in place at WB Animation and their related studios, as well as Cartoon Network, is creator friendly, that may be the case. Otherwise, AT&T is run and controlled by Southerners who believe in the up by your bootstraps type of shit and otherwise aren't know as labor friendly employers.

I was thinking more back in the 70s-80s when Disney was sucking.
>>

I'm a bit confused. They argued over what?
>>
>>94950262
What are they doing today besides Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo direct to video movies? They clearly have no idea what the fuck they're doing with the former.
>>
>According to IndieWire in May 2017, Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation are in the early stages of developing a reboot of Animaniacs. The interest in the reboot was driven by a surge of popularity for the show when it was made available on Netflix in 2016, plus numerous successful projects that have revived interest in older shows, such as Fuller House.[85]
>>
>>94953938
It's going to be shit. (If it's even real) Just getting that out there right now.
>>
>>94954007
No shit, they were inspired by Fuller House.

At least we'll always have

Fuller House is pure shit though and soapboxes with political bullshit
>>

>Fuller House is pure shit though
Yes. That was my point. No shit it's going to be bad, they were inspired by Fuller House.
>>
>>94954007
>>94954093
TMS is behind it, it will be like Blue Jacket Lupin III all over again.
>>94954146
It will be excellent, it will not be a repeat of Nu-DuckTales.
>>
>>94953907
Appearently, they also do comics for the German market. Saw some Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo comics while buying stuff at the pencil store. Never really heard people talking about them on /co/ and the market is rather big so it was propably OC.
>>
>>94954403
>Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo
DC makes those, unless they are different books.
