Has anyone here even read a Hulk comic before Planet Hulk?
I had a hulk comic from when I was 12 where he was practicing transcendental meditation in a cabin in the woods with a shaved head and he dreams of having killed a little girl (just like in Frankenstein)
Other than that no.

I read quite a bit in the 90s with the whole personality merging stuff.

FTFY OP
Most people here haven't even read Planet Hulk, just watched the movie and pretend they did.
Yeah.
But only one.

You remember which it was?
>>94943197The original Lee run is super solid and Mantlo is just as good if not better than PAD's run

>Mantlo
>the hack that killed Alpha Flight
>better than PAD

He also wrote the abysmal start to Marvel Transformers. But he also wrote Rom, so it's not like he's all bad.

Yep, the silver age stuff is good & there are some really great stories that have been ignored.
70's early 80's stuff is comfy. Mid 80's get derailed when Mantlo makes Hulk 'mindless' & sends him dimension hopping, then Byrne was building a good head of steam but rage quit, then is floundered until PAD which was fantastic until his last year when he just hit the wall but didn't want to give up.
Everybody jizzed over Bruce Jones stint but it just seemed to me like he was copying a LOT of Alan Moore's early Swamp Thing run.
Planet Hulk is just a remake of Jerella Microverse saga but good luck telling millennials that.

There are a lot of high profile modern stories that are totally just mildly repolished old ones.
Fuck, even Secret Empire is basically just two old Cap stories bolted onto a Cap-focused What If.

DUDE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN IS SO GREAT IT'S NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE.
I've read most of his Tales to Astonish books.
