Speaking as a Chinese-American born in Hawaii, this really makes me mad. Back during the 1930s and 40s, immigrant Japanese were well-known for not integrating well with American communities. Asians in general would form their little X-towns, but Japanese also continued to profess loyalty to their Emperor. And after the Attack on Pearl Harbor, Japanese immigrants tried to hide some crashed Japanese aviators so they could escape back to Japan. Not to mention that Pearl Harbor was scouted out by immigrant agents before the attack.

The internment of the Japanese-Americans was logical, and justified by the fears of the American government of the time. There were smaller-scale internments of other "enemy aliens" in WWI and WWII, and it wasn't simply racism that caused it. And you can't just argue that because the people targeted were of one "race" it was racist because the fears were tied into the culture of that race/nation and how it made the population more susceptible to enemy propaganda.

Bombshells is pretty good in my view. The biggest criticism I have is that the narration sounds the same no matter which character is doing it.

All these complaints about lesbianism are silly, you already have 90% of most other DC media to get straight couples.

Yeah, that's an issue I have with Bennett in general. She can be a really indulgent writer, both in authorial voice and in stuff like, I don't know, multi-page song sequences. I found both Animosity and her Batwoman to be better for that.

Because Bombshells is designed to be a niche line with a pretty specific demographic? DC has their mainline superhero titles to cater to general audiences. Bombshells is not that line and is made for a specific and very steady following. It's also a digital first product, meaning it reaches significamtly fewer people but has significantly smaller production costs.
