Watching it now it's still fucking amazing how they got away with the context, are they still allowed to air that today?

To me, you can't go wrong with Just One Bite. It nails everything, from the show's simpler comedy elements to the surreal feel from the earlier seasons. It's like Spongebob's version of The Rowdyruff Boys special: the one episode you can point at as being definitive of the whole show while still taking the characters out of their comfort zone.

No, it's probably one of the worst in the early seasons 'cause it's the first instance of the writers sacrificing the most basic plot for cheap slapstick. I.e., before that, episodes where Squidward would get fucked would still have a basic logical structure of events (Squidward acts like a dick -> Squidward is tortured by the universe). IIRC this was the first one where he didn't really do anything and it was just a compilation of gags. Not as bad as it would get later on, but still, not really great either
