Ill start off with Kubo. Sure the plot isnt stellar, but visually i was spellstruck the entire time. Even the strange amount of edge it had, especially in the dialog, really reminded me of movies I watched growing up in the mid to late 90s.
>>94897683
WUT?
Can someone explain to me this movie? Seems everyone in middle school went crazy for this POS, along with small soldiers, and I though both of them were garbo
>>94897699
Yeah you really have to appreciate how smooth the animation was considering it's stop motion
Especially with the skeleton monster, garden of eyes and moon beast. Honestly just google kubo and the two strings creatures of darkness, the work they put into the film is amazing
Summer wars is a favorite of mine. Friends like it too, so we watch it every couple of years. the color, the animation, just shit bro, its pretty.
>>94897903
It was a violent animated movie, of course their little kid minds loved it.
>>94898016
No joke. And I actually got duped by the twist with beetle and monkey.
actual spoileri feel like monkey was BS though, since she is a lot ruder than the mother we see, and I dont understand why she would mislead kubo
>>94897903
It's a good movie, and a pretty smart comedy too. Watching it now, I'm honestly amazed I liked it as a kid since I doubt I understood half of what was actually going on.
>>94898019
I honestly dont even know how to describe this style. The red on white looks so fuckin poppin
>>94898055>and I dont understand why she would mislead kubo
I assumed she was trying to protect him, since she knew the magic would only last so long. She didn't want him to lose his mother twice.
How's A Scanner Darkly?

I was able to relate to Z in many ways, so that probably helped. And >>94898074 makes another great point.
>>94898116ironic, how it only makes him loser her suddenly twice. shit, how does kubo live now that he is an orphan. He is beloved, but like, is be just gonna be some nutty magic bard who lives in this cave outside of town? Is kubo a fucking urban legend?
>>94898074
I understand what its saying about conforming and the nature of community and individuality and all that, but I cant stand the core of the movie. Z is such a neurotic fuck i have a hard time relating to him at all, but I may just not be the kinda guy the movie was going for. Also main villain stepped right outa a cape movie. Weird to see him in a woody allen flick.
>>94898019
Isnt that just literally the digimon movie?
>>94898255
Shruggo, I wouldn't say I related to Z really, I just liked the film. I've never really been of the opinion that characters have to be relatable for a work to be enjoyable.
>>94898512
Same people worked on it.
Why didn't he just shoot the missile?
>>94898557
He's not a gun.
>>94897659
My favorites include Toy Story 2, Bambi, The Wrong Trousers, Street of Crocodiles, etc. But my absolute favorite animated movie is Akira.
>>94898557
>I stay
>>94898547
Is it any good tho?
>>94899714
it's very good.
>>94898641
So he'd rather die than shoot a missile? What a cuck.
>>94899726
Aight, pirating right now. Might be a good way to spend a lonely friday night.
Woudlnt it be neat to have like a weekly /co/ stream? Just memes and cartoons? I used to watch star wars rebels with the guys on the star wars general, and got, seeing rapid memes and shit go flying during the high points was just hilarious
>>94898131
Alright, but I recommend getting the comic instead of the movie. It's the same thing, but it's easier to pick up on the small bits in the comic.

Sure, but mods/janitors would shut down the threads in a heartbeat.

I remember we used to have a weekly stream about five years ago, usually it was 80s /co/ movies. It went on for a while til the streams branched into non-/co/ material and was no longer allowed but I don't see why it would be a problem setting up again.
>>94902326
Well, I cant really stream right now, but i might be able to in a few months. What should I stock up on? What is some primo /co/ content?
>>94902493
BEAST WARS
>>94902556
Really? I never saw the appeal. Its pretty gross looking
>>94897696
What do you like so much about it? My mother hated it while I was growing up, so I only saw it once, why should I revisit it now, as an adult?
