It's okay because we had one page where Loki out of nowhere appears just to blatantly explain Jane and the readers that it was in fact his scheme to tell the Vikings to invade Egypt in order lure Thor away from the banquet. Never mind the logistics of that so that the timing would be perfect. And then Jane clocks Loki and goes to help the vikings to loot and murder more egyptian natives defending their land from invaders. I guess because Apocalypse was ruling Egypt, it makes everyone in Egypt a bad guy in this period of time, so it's a moral victory of sorts.

Wouldn't it have made more sense that the vikings were under Loki's spell and they had defeat Loki and break his mind control by joining forces and that is what ends the hostilities when Thors broker peace with Apocalypse? They were very rare, usually had the same role as japanese women at the time, trained in combat as defenders of home. Viking women in general were more equal than most societies at the time, because the viking culture allowed women to test the masculinity of men and allowed them to talk back at them. It was quite similar to the way of women born in Sparta, where they were still expected to be mothers and in the kitchen but also they were expected to be "tough" and to do stuff like honor kill their husbands or sons if they were being cowards.

Then add in viking culture where slights towards one person were considered to be slights towards his or her entire family, so if you raped a viking woman, you basically raped her entire family line and then her whole family was obligated to try and kill you. So it was not like in arabic lands where raping a woman only caused her family to demand you buy or marry her.

Well we didn't even get a storytime for this until Friday. Plus, the fact that you had to ask this question at all should tell you what you need to know. It's just a forgettable and largely inconsequential little one-shot with one or two pieces of dialogue that the usual suspects will get triggered by. It was never going to "break the internet" anymore than your average issue of Mighty Thor does (ie, not at all). Pretty much the ONLY thing that anyone ever talks about regarding Jane's stint as Thor were those 3 pages from like issue 4 of the pre-Secret Wars run and nothing is going to change that.

Looking back on this I think "Jane would have let Blake save her" would have worked better as the revelation/whisper. For one it would actually be a truth hidden from Thor. Once revealed would have Thor realize that his abdication of that part of him has left him unable to save someone he cares for, as well that he is in some part lessened in Jane's eyes because of its absence. Which in turn lessens himself in his own. End result is the same, but a bit more pithy
