Nope. In 2010 when he was making TCW George explicitly said the dark side is a negative and bad aspect of the force. It's inevitable and you can't get rid of it, but it isn't something where you need 50% dark (selfish, hateful, suffering, hint hint all that shit he explicitly shows in the PT and TCW) and 50% light. As an era, I think you'd be hard pressed to convince me that the PT isn't the best era.

Even if you prefer some OT aesthetics, or the movies, the PT is literally just the Galaxy at its most rich and vibrant, the tipping point where all the biggest stories take place. TCW is pretty representative of the huge variety in storytelling that can come from the era.

Fall of society and rise of an Empire. The Mandalorian Civil Wars. Galactic war an on unprecedented scale.

The OT era is more gloomy, with the Empire always looming, and the stories usually just revolve around bursts of hope in a bleak Galaxy.

ST era is just the OT era but shinies, until based Rian and Pablo and even Filoni salvage it.

There are things I liked about TFA, that I talk about if they come up in discussion. But the discussion at hand is TFA's creatures and puppets, and I just happen to think they are shitty and only praised on the merit of being practical, because that somehow gives them a free pass now.

I read that some of the original concepts of the ST era were themed around a Medeival aesthetic. I read that Planets will be entirely self-governed without a Senate, causing much of the Galaxy to degenerate into factions.

The only remnants of these concepts seem to be The Knights of Ren (which seem to have been sidelined), Phasma's armor, and Maz Kanata's Castle.

Literally 95% of all Star Wars material is retroactive where the audience generally knows the future of the characters or plot, so this is a bit silly to be honest.

I mean think about it, taking canon material explicitly as the most chronological story at the time of release, the only things that would "matter" are ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Shattered Empire, Aftermath, and TFA. Everything else in the entire history of the franchise has slotted in retroactively. And even the stuff I mentioned had some retroactive alterations, like making Vader a Skywalker.

It's always possible for new media about Vader to enhance our experience of him, even if we know where he ends up.
