A few like Gillen and Aaron probably do.
Most of the other "diversity" characters are for marketing purposes, not out of an interest in social justice. Bendis' Miles and Riri were made to get royalty money.
Others that get called "SJWs" like Spencer and Wilson are very upfront about being moderates. Ms. Marvel was created to reflect Wilson's own experiences and those of her friends who grew up in religious families. Captain Falcon was done in order to explore themes that Gruenwald's and Englehart's Cap runs did, because those are the ones Spencer has attachment to, though Marvel marketing probably had dollar signs in their eyes when they approved it.
