Can gems be killed by human weapons? I've seen that Malachite could atleast be stunned by getting hit by heavy objects and possibly blinded by getting poked in the eye. And a gem monster got killed by Sadie using a sharp stick. Do humans have a chance against gems in war?

She's never been drawn shorter than Steven and Steven is Amethyst's height. Some boarders just have cutsier and wonkier styles and the animators shit up proportions and perspectives, and with Peridot's skinny body, wonky proportions are really noticeable

If you watch Back to the Moon the rubies have the same problem in wide shots. Cheap animation. But even the episodes worked on by the boarders with the worst reps will look great if it's an important, well-polished episode that was probably put to the better animation studio

They aren't trying to make Peridot look even shorter on purpose, it's just a case of good ol' QUALITY
