As someone that is actually from New York, this entire plot of the city caving in on this one area was complete bullshit. New York city is on top of a location where the bedrock layer is close to the surface. You can literally see some of the bedrock sticking out of the ground all over the city. This actually both helps and hinders construction in the city since you don't have to dig too far down to build a foundation for a building in some areas, but in other areas you have to break out the explosives and/or heavy drilling equipment to even go down a few feet. Considering how far down they were you could dig out that entire dragon skeleton and not have any real problems what-so-ever. And even if the ground were weaker above them, if they didn't put in support beams as they dug out the skeleton it would cave in on them while they were digging so they wouldn't let it be that structurally unsound anyway. I should point out in real life there were recently new subway tunnels being drilled out and they don't even bother putting in support beams since the stone is that solid. They just put in a reinforced layer on the ceiling like in this image for really large areas they dig out that are close to the surface. They then later put in a metal cage that they put concrete over to prevent any loose material falling into the tunnels over time.

I kinda wish that the Defenders shows were set in the 70s (that was Fox's original plan for Daredevil when they still had the rights). That way they can amp up the grit, while having that 70s setting and vibe which works so well for these characters. There are so many things that just don't add up and it increasingly gets me more and more disappointed that I watched all the shows til now. Look at how Luke Cage was arrested at the end of his season and it was treated like a huge deal, only for him to be on the streets again 3 minutes into his screentime of Defenders.

There is no point to watch these shows anymore because none of the show runners have a plan. Kingpin will probably be killed just to establish a weaker character as the "big bad".

Everyone birches about Cottonmouth dying but I kind of loved it. You first see him as this badass gang lord, but as the story progresses you see he never really wanted that life. He was forced into it by his shitty family. Mariah was better suited for cutt throat thinking, but once again, her life got decided for her too.

When Cottonmouth didn't have a real answer for Cage, his business and image start to self-destruct. The guy just wanted to be a musician, and now he has to deal with some indestructible asshole or get bumped off the gang table.

Mariah taking over was a return to order and a realistic evolution of criminal enterprise in Harlem. It was pretty poetic, and I respect that writing decision a lot.
