Why is Homestar Runner the only flash cartoon from the early 2000s that still holds up?

Because of its simplistic visuals, unique early-80s nerd culture aesthetic, and the fact that the writing never pandered to current events. Characters like Strong Bad, Onion Bubs and Homestar are also relatable and well written.

Because it was the only flash series from the early 2000s that was good using conventional humour. Pretty much everything else that was notably good was much more... experimental. For example, if you remember at the time, Metal Gear Awesome really wasn't like shows or cartoons that came before it. Buuut despite being good, because they were so experimental and unrefined, it meant they were easy for future artists to improve on. And now even something like Metal Gear Awesome just seems... old-hat and lame, as if it's trying to copy modern stuff but without understanding what makes them funny.
