Read and study the greats, such as Moebius, Tezuka, Winsor McCay, Alan Moore, Mignola (to name a few) and also do master copies (draw replicas) of their best pages, or the ones you find most appealing. It would also behoove you to read the book "Understanding Comics" by Scott McCloud.
