Depends on how you look at it. ATLA and LoK take very different approaches, in spite of their similarities

Remember the shipping wars of ATLA? Remember how, for the most part, they were something that existed entirely within the fanbase and wasn't really a part of the show in any real capacity? Well LoK actually makes a point to fuel that bullshit for the first two seasons, and as a result, the Krew never really develop the kind of interpersonal chemistry the original Gaang had, meaning each character is actually at their best when they are either by themselves or generally away from Korra (since the focus shifts to her when she's around.)

ATLA was s series made in a way that just about anyone could find something to enjoy about it.

LoK, on the other hand, was made to be more focused on the "lonely teenager" crowd, which at the time of ATLA's release, made up a good portion of the fandom. If you're into that sort of characterization and character interaction, then it's great. If you came here for the story or setting, or in search of exciting episodes that develop a specific member of the Krew, you're going to get really excited with the first few episodes, then monumentally disappointed.

That said, Korra herself is a miracle of the universe. I wanna take her out of her show and put her in a better one...with a better cast...and better writers.

And just have a series build up of 2 episode minisodes, where we explore random Avatars in the cycle and get neat little journeys in a vast array of worlds.

I'd say Avatar Chronicles would be the best part to Salvage it. Personally, I enjoyed TLOK for what it was, didn't take away from what TLAB was, and something unconnected to either focusing on short stories would be neat.

Not really. There was a lot of promise, but each season kinda only made it worse. They should have stuck with one, maybe two plotlines and expanded on them more. Rather than trying to do like four different plots that kinda felt half assed.
