To be fair, villain books usually suck regardless of pop culture politics. There are exceptions of course, but on the whole, it's hard to even have a plot for a villain story. It almost always boils down to fighting a greater evil, since you can't really have a protagonist the audience actively wants to see fail.

No it doesn't. It's gotten so many fill ins it's outrageous and most of them aren't even good. Ferreyra and Schmidt are awesome, especially Ferreyra, but they have totally different art styles. Jamal Campbell is okay but the rest have been pretty lame.
