My problem with it is that it's hard to go back to status quo without breaking disbelief.

Like they recently destroyed Spider-Man's power armor, so it's obvious he's going to go back to a cloth costume, but now that he's had armor at all, it interferes with my getting into the story that he doesn't just up and make another armor.

Where have you been? Frank always filched high tech shit whenever the opportunity presented itself and discarded it when it no longer presented any further use to him.
