because Disney doesnt give a fuck
Disney management has only one trick: hire a bunch of high salary people, make a product, hit margin, and then fire them the first quarter the margin dips to consider the salary savings as additional margin, make bonus.
Infinity was highly popular and making money. Why was it canceled then? Because it was less profitable than other things they could be doing with that money (opportunity costs) and because the collectible toys to life genre had peaked and was still seeing new entries meaning more competition. It would only get less profitable in the future.
They required them to make figures that didn't sell so they blamed them for them not selling.

Not to mention:
>no Dipper
>no Mabel
>no Wander
>no Star Butterfly
>no Bonkers
Poor choices for characters, resulting in poor sales of those figures
Little to no online interaction/multiplayer

I had a lot of fun making my own levels. Real basic shit but fun none the less. At least the star wars figures still look great on display.
