Carcosa is not Chambers's though, it's Bierce's. And Cthulhu mythos actually gives all the freedom you need. It's Derleth's bullshit and the attempt to build a canon that screws up most non-HPL mythos. The mythos stories written by people like Robert E Howard, Clark Ashton Smith or Frank Belknap Long are actually pretty good are the mythos are loose enough to fit each writer's style. You shouldn't judge HPL for what some shit writers did with his stuff after he died.

I live in a country where DC hasn't gotten regular editions for quite some time but if we're talking about ongoings, the latest thing that was published on a regular basis was the New52 I actually enjoyed Wonder Woman, Batwoman (first 2 trades, which is what got released here), Animal Man (also first 2 trades), Batman & Robin (up until the Death of the Family crossover), etc. I'm also catching up with a lot of older comics through the graphic novel collections of both Marvel and DC.
That's when it comes to the big two, I also read a lot of European and local comics, as well as some American non-superhero stuff.
And Johns is still shit and this is still nothing but a shitty cashgrab.
