I don't know what to tell you, OP.
you probably shouldn't read it at all.


A lot of the initial Image Comics titles were a way for the founding artists
to publish their own take on popular characters.
So you really shouldn't read Spawn for Spawn the character.
You should read it as an alternate version on Marvel's 90s Ghost Rider.

If you're not familiar with how Image Comics came to fame, and if you are not
familiar with the books published at that time and unless looking at cool art
is enough for you this will most certainly be a huge waste of your time.

I had the same experience with their Youngblood title - it kind of works for
an X-Men fan.
