Rick's nihilistic and amoral omnipotence, Morty getting increasingly jaded, gratuitous gore, a long monologue about why a character sucks, the events of this episode were exactly the same as the previous two, written by diversity hires, just with different window dressing.

I really wish they would stop with the duel episode theme bullshit. Having two side stories with different characters is going to kill the show. This episode would have been objectively better if they cut out all the bullshit that happened with Beth, Morty, and Summer and just stuck to Rick and Jerry.

The side plot was actually garbage and no one is going to convince me otherwise. A complete waste of time adding no value to the show at all.

Ever since I was a little kid, reading books like Captain Underpants, I've always dreamed of being a children's book author. In high school I toyed with several concepts that no one around me seemed to care about. Hell, throughout my teens no one really cared about me at all. It's something I enjoy, but something that makes me so miserable at the same time. I think I need to move on and start applying my passion appropriately again.

Depends on your taste, but depending on the artist/writer for different chapters they have the same feel as actual episodes without betraying the characterization, and revisit a lot of different characters and themes that were only touched on in the show. Rick's nihilistic omnipotence and how it affects everyone is obviously a theme specially this season, but also across the show. In the first season it. In season 1 it was way simpler cause it was the introduction, mostly affecting Morty. In Season 2 we see Rick's tendencies and how it affects HIM. And in Season 3 it seems to be about how they affect the family outside of Morty (Who has now grown accustomed to it). It's why Beth specially has ampted up in bitchiness unlike previous seasons.

People tend to act like Rick's speech to Jerry this ep is some kind of soapbox from the creators, but rather is just Rick being in character. He WOULD give a whole speech about how much jerry sucks because he is aware of how omnipotent he is. The reason why we don't see him get much comeuppance now is because the theme os the season is not about him, but rather how his actions are slowly poisoning everybody, or rather pushing their flaws higher. Hence why the episode also goes to put blame on jerry due to his spineless. Yes, he tried to make ammends but there is some truth in Rick's words: We have seen in previous episodes how whole thing is doing something, then quickly backpeddal, over and over. The second Multiversal television ep is a big show of that. So for Rick to think Jerry is a predator and not prey makes sense.

It really feels like this season they are trying to build up to something, but people still are trying to debate "who is right" and "who is wrong" when the answer is "EVERYONE is wrong"

I partially agree with this statement with most of the cast, but how is Morty wrong? It's pretty normal for him to be tired of Rick's bullshit, also he's showing to be a bit more intelligent across both these last episodes and the previous season, maybe he's cynical too, but I don't see it as something wrong

I feel that Morty's viciousness this season all stems from his father not being around.

Lets face it, Rick and Beth are horrible people, one looks at his family as disposable tools ready to find another universe family if things go too south and the other overlooks all of her fathers sins and takes it out on the family and wine. Morty could look to Summer but shes in the same boat as him

While Jerry is not perfect at all, And Ricks takedown of him was spot on. He wants to be a good person and unlike Rick he really cares about his family but now he has the smartest person in the Universe living with him and has pretty much taken over the family. And while Jerry is pathetic, dumb ect. he wants to be a good person and have Morty being a good man.

Now all Morty has for moral guidance is Rick and Beth

I will say this episode was a keeper. I doubt they can top the season opener thats why the next two after is were a dash underwhelming. But they had good spots like Pickle Rick and Mortys arm and Summer acting out and the physiologists take down of rick. Was not a fan of the Vindicators ep. Now that one did have too much of a femmine touch. And pretty much made it blatant that Rick is the Villain of the show
