Establish that he was already being 16ish, a vigilante before Bruce adopted him, you see him beating up mobsters that are connected with his parents killers and Bruce trying to stop him but failing so he instead focuses him on the mission. Another way is to ignore it completely and just go with the canon, have a short conversation with Alfred that's similar to the Young Justice line, "So he wouldn't turn out like me."

He'd probably be less of a surrogate son and more of a vigilante Batman is training to replace him in the event that he dies or retires. He'd never be The Boy Wonder, probably already be in his twenties when Batman accepts him as a protege.

He wouldn't. Nolan Batman is supposed to be the gritty, edgy Batman we see in his couple first appearances in Detective Comics before Robin appeared, or in Year One, where Joker is a gritty murderous psychopath and everything is dark and edgy, and Batman has no problems throwing someone off a building and breaking his legs to make him talk.

Note that aside from Alfred, Nolan Batman doesn't really have any supporting cast. Burton Batman had Vicki Vale, proper romance with Catwoman and eventually Robin; Nolan Batman is slowly deserted by every single person that cared about him, even Lucius Fox and Commissioner Gordon leave him.

Nolan Batman is Batman without the Batfamily, without the heart - a grizzled loner, deserted by everyone he cares about, considered a criminal by most of the city, who simply has to disappear after a couple years. Nolan Batman is a vigilante, not a superhero.

Nolan Batman movies are, in the end, about what Batman would look like WITHOUT a Robin.
