Supposedly they could have hired the full staff over from Sony and continued the show if they wanted to. But the Marvel animation people were too prideful and didn't want to work on a show that wasn't their own, so they just started over and made a show with more synergy. Ironically, synergy with the MCU instead of the Spider-Man films.

That said, I'm not sure I entirely believe that, because the Blu-rays of the series are still distributed by Sony Pictures, so most likely it was done because Marvel/Disney wouldn't be able to make money off of DVD/Bluray releases, reruns or merchandise.

Moral Orel.

This wasn't just a case of "Darn, too bad it's cancelled, I would have loved to see more." These writers had shit planned. The show was going places, you can see evidence all over the third season. But instead they cancelled it in season 3, despite the fact that it would end naturally in season 5, and the creators had to rush everything.

You can see where the creators were going in the season, and it was a great idea, but Adult Swim's fuckery meant that it starts out slow and gradual then immediately shifts into overdrive. You could tell the writers were racing to close as many plot threads as possible.

The ending was so rushed and Orel deserved a better send off.

They always reset things after 3-4 seasons. Spider-Man is resetting again. They want to hook new kids on new stories by starting over. It's harder to get people into a show when it's older.

I heard it was because he felt the target audience didn't have the attenion span to appreciate serious plots, or the attention span to ever catch a multi-part episode, or the attention span to remember things that happened in previous episodes. You really don't know how production schedule works. The show was in the works while the movie was coming out, thinking it would be a success. By the time the movie bombed, the show was too far into production to cancel, so they could do nothing but air the only season they got produced.

The infighting is what got DC shows besides TTGo booted from CN in general. If anything, probably the most direct victims of that conflict were the DC Nation shorts and Beware the Batman.

If an Avengers movie ever does galactus, at this point it would be like, avengers 5 or 6 with Black Panther, Ant-man, Wasp, Captain Marvel and who knows who else. There are hundreds of planets and aliens in cosmic DC and they choose to focus on only four, and two of them are fucking OCs. The fight scenes sucked, the "art direction" consisted of "use the bare minimum in every scene". Even though /co/ chastised YJ for focusing on the teenage drama in early episodes, they fellate this show and it's shitty Razor x Aya romance thread.

The only explanations I can think of as to why anyone liked GL: tAS was because they wanted fuck Aya or they just wanted to be contrarians because YJ was clearly the more popular show

I haven't watched GL:TAS in a long time but all i can say is that I dug how it built its world and how the stakes felt real and how the Guardians were the assholes they were in the comics. I can't defend Razor x Aya though, that really dragged the second half of the show down.
