Dobson really is an impossible to understand guy. He's lived a privelaged life, went to a good school and developed some artistic skill. But he let it all go to waste. Every opportunity he had to improve was either ignored or outright mocked by him, leaving him to wallow in his filth and complain about anything that people will agree with. He's like a small child with a fork, stabbing the wall socket and getting electrocuted then screaming about how the socket is attacking him. A few passerbys cheer him on for his fight against the three-holed terror but quickly move on once they realize he has no idea what hes doing. Then a few adults come by and try to tell him to stop stabbing the wall socket, but he just yells at them and tells them that they are just out to get him. This goes on for a long time, adults still trying to save him, to no avail. Until now, now he is a burnt manchild, still stabbing the socket, wondering why the world is against him.
