I'll stand by my statement that once the show fully broke off it's "hey we came from Family Guy and we don't know how to do our own thing yet" once it got past season one it got SO much better.

Do you know who really surprised me as a character in this show? Jeff. I initially thought he was just the classic loser boyfriend Haley went with to piss off her dad, but then he turned out to actually be a good and genuine person who actually care. He is really good Husbando material. There are time Haley almost doesn't deserve him but she manage to make up most of the time.

It really help figuring out their relationship once you understand Haley is basically the Stan And Jeff the Francine in their relationship.
