>Defenders show
>none of the actual Defenders are in it
What?
>>94739300
Defenders is a more marketable title than Heroes for hire. Plus I think they already made fun of the hfh name in luke cage.
>>94739300
The defenders have had multiple roster changes over the years. Luke and Danny have both been members. Luke during Secret Defenders and Danny during both Secret Defenders and Fraction's Defenders.
>>94739300
>none of the actual Defenders are in it
Other than Hulk and Strange, no one care about them.
>>94739300
Stop making this thread.
>>94739449
Why was there only a fraction of the defenders at that time and not the whole defenders?
>>94739474
>no one cares about Silver Surfer
Are you a moviefag by any chance?

I know right?
>>94739300
Daredevil, Luke and Danny were all members of Defenders at some point or the other, Jessica is the only new member, actually.
And 'classic' lineup would be impossible, Hulk's rights are sorta tied with Universal; Namor doesn't exist in MCU; Silver Surfer rights are tied up at Fox, and there's no way a Netflix original can afford to hire Benedict Cumberbatch for Strange.
>>94739300
They're in Ragnarok lol.
>>94739518
>no one cares about Silver Surfer
Since "Parable", no one cares about Silver Surfer. Which is why nowadays he is just a jobber and a protagonist of a book that nobody buys.
>>94739449
Luke was also a member in Gerber's run.
>>94739300
Hellcat is in it.
What's weirder is that we're getting a movie later this year with Hulk, Strange and Valkyrie.
>>94739300
>Silver Surfer
>Namor
>Dr. Strange
>Hulk
Holy shit, OG Defenders were OP as fuck.
Let's read some gud comix, /co/
>>94742001
I miss narration
>>94741967
Is this a Valkryie is tried to be convinced to quit the Defenders, or a Nighthawk gets kidnapped episode?
>>94742185
Neither, it's a Valkyrie gets kidnapped and Nighthawk is convinced to quit the Defenders episode.
>>94739300
>"Protect my city"
>Not "Defend my city."
You had one job writers!
ONE FUCKING JOB!
>>94740488
This post made me laugh my ass off, holy shit
You're completely right, I just find it hilarious because people rarely call attention to how fucking solid of a team they are with only four members
Moar?
>>94743208
Yes, this is neat
>>94743297
You got it, anon. Sorry for the wait.
>>94739300
The original Defenders weren't street level, these folks are.
>>94739474
>Talking shit about Namor
I will fight you faget
>>94740488
It's rare that Namor is the wimpiest guy in the room
>>94739300
Only one of the actual defenders doesn't fucking suck as a character. Nobody wants to watch knock-off aqua-man.
>>94739300
im on episode 1 right now. i missed these lovable assholes....and danny,i guess
>>94745688
Danny makes sense as the central character since he has an actual pro-active story.
Anybody reading? lol
JLU had a nice little homage to the defenders in the episode 'wake the dead' with amazo, aquaman, dr fate and grundy standing in for each defender

Either I'm retarded or the writers are retarded. Someone is, that's for sure.
1. Why would Bakuto set off the bomb to destroy the building and with it the substance and his only chance of resurrection?
2. How exactly did Matt "sacrifice" himself to save the city? The bomb was gonna go off anyway thus destroying the Hand's HQ and the hole whether he stayed behind or not. He only stayed for Elektra and maybe to allow the rest of the team to escape but it had nothing to do with the city.
3. So the Hand's ultimate plan was using Rand as a key to open the wall so they can get more of the substance (i.e. dragon skeleton?) that they ran out of, that doesn't explain 90% of their actions in the previous shows. All that scheming just to dig a big hole?
4. Nothing about Elektra is explained. Why did Alexandra assume that she'd lose her memories and why did she retain it?
5. So the Hand wanted to go back to K'un Lun, how would getting more of the substance help with that? And wasn't K'un Lun destroyed in the first place?
>>94746112
It had some cool moments but it was a fucking mess overall. Or maybe I'm retarded.
>>94745801
yes but so far hes pretty whiny.
im on ep 2 right now
>>94739300
>Vision is not the golden age hero, but a robot
>Daredevil is not the golden age hero, but a blind catholic lawyer
>Namor became a villain
>Black Widow has nothing to do with her demonic golden age counterpart
Just about to start watching things. Is netflix down for anyone else?
>Rap Music gets louder in the background
>Luke blasts his way in.
>Danny: It's you!
>Luke: It's me!
This show isn't perfect, but that scene right there.
>>94741967
cool shit thanks my friend of colour!
>>94739300
Luke Cage was Hero for Hired as a Defender for like 5ish issues.
>>94748318
Ha, "Hero for Hired", I like that.
>>94739300
>its the daily /co/ doesn't know shit about comics thread
Great job, OP.
Final issue for tonight. This issue is important because it's the last Elf With A Gun appearance Gerber wrote
From then on, two different writers would try to tie that loose end, the first one by literally just running over the Elf with a truck and the second one by revealing he was part of a bigger conspiracy. I didn't like either of those resolutions though so I won't be posting them.
>>94747267
Oh god, I'm getting Old Spice flashbacks.
Fin
Hope you guys enjoyed it.
>>94746453
Dude Namor was a villain even in his early stories. He just became a good guy as time went on.
>>94749792
Did Steve Gerber ever say what where his plans for elf with a gun?
>>94750333
thanks trips man
>>94750453
I don't think so. He only said, and I quote:
>the Elf was nothing more than a backhanded metaphor for the chaotic and inexplicable nature of everyday existence, the “beast in the jungle” that you can spend a lifetime planning for but which still comes as a surprise or maybe never comes at all
So yeah, I'm not sure if he ever planned to actually resolve that little sub plot.
Since I guess the watching thread died, anyone got good, maybe background sized caps from the intro?
>>94751962
No.
>>94742056
Same.
>>94746166
Ur only a little retarded but i can explain some stuff
2. He saved the defenderd by stoping elektra now they can protect newyork
3. Only the plan in this movie they were just evil crime lords
4. She revived elektra the same way she had been revived before so she knew what to expect
I cant explain anything else i might be retarded too
>>94739300
Defenders are in Thor Ragnorak. They got Hulk, Dr Strange, Valyrie. and Thor is replacing both Namor and Surfer
>no frank
>>94746166
I'll give it a whirl, though I was completely off my ass for a good chunk of my first watch-through
1. Bakuto's corpse fell onto the bag if I'm not mistaken, so he didn't intentionally set it off.
2. I guess it was more a matter of keeping Elektra, who was now just a psychopathic killing machine, from escaping and likely fucking up New York. Weird way of looking at it for sure, though, it was much more of a personal sacrifice than one for the city.
3. Pretty much, though I don't think they even know there was a wall in the first place so odds are they were expecting something else to be down there.
4. Alexandra probably thought she knew what to expect given her own experience with the process, but didn't account for what Elektra went through in her own life. The Black Sky might have been meant to be more of a being, maybe like The Beast, and her dying might have been meant to make way for it to fully take over if she were ever revived. I will say that Black Sky was a weird plot device and I'm glad it's (hopefully) gone.
5. This one's pretty weird, but given how Alexandra was dying through the series, I'd say they were all gonna start feeling the effects of not fully re-upping just as she was, meaning that they wouldn't be immortal, making a return to K'un Lun even harder than it could be. No idea about it actually being destroyed though, I just figured some Hand guys got in and wrecked shit until the path closed.
>>94750426
And a racist.
>What you saw on the other side. The darkness, the absence of everything. It's horrifying, isn't it?
Wow Defenders writers, now THAT deserves a tip from my fedora! WUBBA LUBBA DUB DUB!
