If I remember correctly, they were worried people would confuse Launchpad as the actual superhero since, ya know, big body and chin, so they toned it down a bit. They also made him dumber which I wasn't a fan of.

Yeah but the difference is that even though Donald is an adventurer he was over protective of the boys, while Beakley taught Webby adventuring shit.

Donald coddling the boys is apparent in the first scene of the pilot, and despite that they still managed to hold their own against Glomgolds thugs well enough so its not like Webby is a super special exception.

These days, people actively look for something to be pissed off at. I routinely see things in older cartoons that no one batted an eye at the time, but would send mobs into a frenzy today. I wouldn't mind much, if it weren't for the fact that the acceptance of overreaction has warped the sense of what qualifies as something that really deserves to be called out.

Which doesn't even really help that much, since Scrooge also knows all of that and is also in the show. It's more a character trait than an asset.

And her otaku knowledge about Scrooge and Donald's exploits and all items associated with them might in fact allow her to remember relevant things faster than either Donald or Scrooge themselves when dealing with a problem.
Like how the kids quickly came up with a way to defeat Picchu the gold-eating dragon.

It's a decent way to break up exposition so only Donald or Scrooge aren't talking about it and it can sound more natural, and honestly it could lead to the triplets coming to Webby for information about their mother that Scrooge or Donald won't talk about, I'm just saying it doesn't give her some sort of "advantage" over the male characters in the show. It just gives her... something to do.
