I don't mind the addition of Summer but Beth and Jerry have always been the most boring parts of the show to me, and I feel like the new female writers are going to give that part more focus

Episode 1 was kinda iffy, Episode 2 was fantastic, Episode 3 was hit and miss, I personally really enjoyed the Therapist spiel because she's a poop psychologist so her big speech just seemed extra hollow in light of that. While at the same time being right but for the wrong reasons. Episode 4 was okay. I giggled at a few parts and was actually shocked by a couple of the more brutal deaths, I think it's not as good as some people claim it is though.

EP2 is still the highlight for me.

Garbage melodrama that isn't appropriate for the show at all. This stuff was creeping it at the end of season 2 and suddenly has taken over and smothered the entire show. This niche was already satisfied with Bojack Horseman, and in that series the characters were designed bottom up for drama. This season is taking characters who existed firstly as comedic foils and given them dramatic treatment that is itself very surface level and didactic. It's an awful fit.

The quality of the humor (when it's even attempted) seems to have decline too. In the last episode I couldn't tell if the written-in laughter and high-fives at rick's jokes were supposed to be ironic or not because they were seriously not witty.

I'm liking it so far, the Vindicators episode was a nice little spot of Morty really taking out some anger in a passive way towards Rick, and I feel like that's something we need. We can only see Jerry win against Tom so many times before we start rooting for the cat, and the same applies to Rick and Morty. Also dat Super Nova

Sadly, that's kind of what it feels like now. I want someone to kick Rick's ass, just to take him down a few pegs. I mean in season 1 he has a few genuinely human moments, like when Morty uses the sticky shoes, or he's surprised by a monster, or when he learns he's going to be crushed by a rock by the female gazorpazorps. Current rick feels like he'd just shoot the monster, berate morty for not thinking of the shoes sooner, and not give a fuck about the rock because his nano-web mesh protects him from all harm.
