Well, the Power Sword was obviously in there at first (as well as She-Ra's Protection Sword) so prior to Adam it *had* a powerful secret.

But if it was just one/two awesome swords that only two people are capable of using, it is a pretty great villain trolling tactic...At least where Skeletor is concerned; neither King Hsss nor Hordak really give a shit about Grayskull apart from "That guy who keeps stopping us lives there." Skels is the only one actively trying to get the doors open.

The real question is, is He-Man in on the secret or not? The Sorceress certainly didn't tell him about his twin sister being stuck with a robotic bat pig demon on Fairy Crystal world until she had to send Adam into Etheria to go fetch her, so what else didn't she tell him?
