Burn Thread
And what's that, a burn for ants?
>>94711060
>>94711060
I mean, as someone who actually LOST a child sidekick on the field during the good old days when it was socially acceptable, wouldn't that make him the authority on child endangerment? A cautionary tale as it were?
>>94711175
This page would be a lot more poignant if Superman didn't look like a bulldog.
>>94711210
Yes, but you know... The writer has a fame for making batman be both irrational and always wrong
>>94711596
You know Waid wrote the OP right? Because it sounds like you think Johns did
>>94711210
Still not worth much when Tim was active and 14-15 years old at the time.
>>94711210
That argument would work except for the fact that at that time he currently had a kid sidekick Robin, Tim I believe.
>>94711073
Was this the first appearance of totally alien, unemotional, red-eyed Superman?
Say what you want about Moore, but he really did knock a few balls out of the park in his day.
>this thread
>>94711210
No, it makes him the most irresponsible and incapable out of everyone. Besides maybe Ollie.
>>94711596
Waid loves Batman and wrote an entire JL arc about how Batman could beat up the JL and, in the next arc, showed that the JL was completely incompetent without him when they voted him out.
Waid doesn't hate Batman and rarely makes him a fool. He was the only right one in Kingdom Come.
>>94711950
It was the first time Superman used his heat vision on a living being I believe.
>>94711175
Jesus Christ.
>>94714686
Black Manta is an absolute savage
>>94711615
Waid is just as bad.
>>94711060
All those four Robin are still alive right now and actually doing something with their lives, helping people, fighting villains, saving innocents. Meanwhile, where are your kids, Wally?
>>94711060
He probably would have calmed Wally down a bit if Batman hadn't decide to butt in too.
>>94711060
>refuse to train kids
>they keep doing stuff and get harmed
>this is your fault for inspiring them by the way
>train them
>something happen and they are fucked
>this is your fault by the way
>kid goes around the world to find his mom and disobeys your order
>dies
>this is your fault by the way
so what's the winning move in this game
>>94711077
Whoever wrote this can go fuck themselves. Riddler's always been a better villain than LOLSRANDOM the Clown.
>>94711077
You know, I don't really give a shit about the words or the context in this pic. I would just like to say I appreciate that if you look carefully, you can see the layout in front of him is redrawn every panel. Not copy-pasted. That's some good shit, man.
>>94717529
Forcing them to knock that shit off.
>>94717634
but how
>>94717680
by putting being a parent before being a superhero
>>94717680
By preventing them from being retards.
>>94717680
By having sex with them.
>>94717680
Skinning their face.
>>94717529
Kill them yourself, so you know its your fault
>>94717592
Are you dumb? That's poser art. They're just tracing over it again and again.
>>94711060
That's always been a terrible argument, he's 3/4 and the three successes went on to become true heroes in their own right
>>94714686
Wasn't there some parallel Earth with combined heroes? And one of them is Aquaflash?
You know what that means? Somewhere out there isMantaZoom.
>>94711950
>unemotional
Looks angry to me.
>>94711353
Damn, that was below the belt.
>>94713035
You know, the Spot could easily be one of Spider-man's most dangerous foes if he actually got some competent writers who knew how to utilize his power set.
>>94711175
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
>>94719981
Well, who was in the wrong here?
>>94720181
Ben
>>94720334
Frankly we was partially wrong and partially right, he did guess that Kaine would shoot him.
>>94711077
Is this shit something anyone can do?
Because I can't draw worth half a fiddler's damn, but if I could get some 3D figure modeling program and then traced over it, could I get my ideas on paper in a way that isn't visually abhorrent?
>>94711073
>>94719898
I always love this one.
>>94720563
I prefer Morrorwind.
>>94711060
>>94720618
Then you have terrible taste
>>94720618
Literally everyone prefers Morrowind for everything except sex mods.
>>94713202
Well done
>>94719431
cringe
>>94720673
No, you have terrible taste.
Want to know how I know you prefer Morrowind only for nostalgic reasons?
>>94720661
is this johns?
>>94720661
lmao, good way to offend all the cops and people that die everyday to stop the criminals that Batman has to stop
>>94711060
It's especially a lame burn with fucking junky Roy standing right there.
>>94717567
>Everything a writer writes is something they personally believe regardless of how it is portrayed
Kindly kill yourself
>>94720661
finally someone did something against "le Batman punch xD"
>>94722005
>autism
>>94721063
Azzarello
>>94719898
I an only imagine this follow by a full thread just saying 'well, fuck' or 'holy crap burn!'. I wish I had be there.
>>94722005
Batman punched Gardener in a comedy book 30 years ago. Said comedy book is the only reason Guy survived beyond his 15 minutes.
That punch was the best thing to happen to Gardener ever.
>>94722175
Huh, what book? Superman losing Lois and getting off track seems to be more common than I thought.
>>94722381
Superman: For Tomorrow
if I remember right
>>94713202
This is stupid. The argument is that the role of helpless victim is traditionally given to women while the role of proactive savior is given to men. Princess Peach is only the leader because she was written that way, and could have just as easily been written as a king or a prince without changing the story. In fact a king probably would have made a lot more sense since they're actually in charge, but you rarely see stories about heroes saving kidnapped kings.
It's only recently that people have been going out of their way to avoid the week, helpless kidnapped princess trope.
Can't believe the butlering hasn't been posted
>>94717476
>Meanwhile, where are your kids, Wally?
Don't pretend this isn't Barry's fault
>>94722493
>but you rarely see stories about heroes saving kidnapped kings.
Because that wouldn't make a good love story
>>94719946
That was one of the most satisfying beatdowns in comic history. Just the shear casualness of it when Thor was done with Tony's shit was pure awesome.
>>94717402
Did he just verbally bitch-slap Maggie Thatcher?
>>94722808
We need hotter kings.
>>94722808
>implying you wouldn't want to be rescued from Bowser by female adventurer from brooklyn
>>94713138
GA is based and better than batman .
>>94719781
Professor Manta run(i)ning with the HTE force.
>>94711175
Excellent
>>94711073
I don't get the hate for this story. Moore in his prime was so good.
>>94731211
What is his version of the "It was me Barry!" Meme?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaHVtlmfHbw&t=25m8s
>>94717476
So only Batman is allowed to still have sidekicks?
>>94732358
Torquemada is all sorts of awesome like that
>>94719962
Any of Spider-Man's villains would be his most dangerous foe if they realized how powerful they were. A villain with a GED would mean the end for Spider-Man.
>>94722312
I amfairly certain desu archive goes back far enough you can read that thread.
>>94720618
I should play it. I have played the other 4.
>>94719736
the point besides dead robin, which technically 2 have been dead and brought back.
so 2 fails
but also he can't say oh you don't get a sidekick his own children when bruce has had multiple non related to him, non powered sidekicks.
>>94722175
Snap.
>>94730176
Are we talking 50s to 80s Brooklyn or Modern Brooklyn?
>>94731654
"How's your son?"
>>94722661
For Wally being a bad parent? nope.
>>94717476
Bullshit. You can't sweep the deaths of your child soldiers under the rug just because they were resurrected by events completely unrelated to Batman.
>>94724606
Yes. Yes he did.
>>94717567
Common now
>>94719931
This was bendis before he went stupid right?
>>94732662
It's awesome
>start out a shitter that can't hit the broad side of a barn
>end up a god
>>94733266
You can't just ignore the fact that they would've died without Batman(except Tim I guess) and wouldn't have been brought back and you also can't ignore all the good they do. Troubled teens that have already made up their mind to fight crime is one thing, putting your own children into bright colored costumes and using them as child soldiers is despicable. Wally is a bad parent. Then again a parent that's lost his children is no longer a parent at all.
>>94722175
>are you comparing me to them?
A good response to that should have been
>isn't that what you want
Or
>shouldn't I?
With the whole superman being the hope and the best of all of us, shouldn't he want to put himself in humanities shoes to show them another way?
>>94711210
If he did it only once, then maybe, but after three, you'd think maybe he'd learned his lesson.
>>94731654
Gurggle gurgle barry
>>94733351
Wally universally and eternally btfo.
>>94722493
You don't kidnap the king, you kidnap the king's daughter, because then you have even more leverage over the king. If you kidnap the king himself, then chances are the princess would just assume the throne for the time being, but kidnap the princess, and the king will turn the earth upside-down to get her back.
>>94733411
No, no, no.
Here's what you do.
You kidnap the King AND you secure control of the daughter. That way you have leverage over the King AND you prevent loyal nobles from taking the Princess, marrying her themselves or using her as a rallying point for resistance, or marrying her off to another power in exchange for support/rewards. Then you marry the Princess, thus securing your legal dynastic control while also rewarding those nobles who would have stood against you for being loyal (by atomising their property across your dominion thus ensuring they will struggle to properly gather) and placing a mix of them and your own men in positions of power, thus showing that you are a great guy to work with.
That's how you do it.
>>94733436
So the King still gets to be King until he dies, while you get to be King afterwards; the loyalists are happy, your men are happy, everyone's happy except maybe the Princess, but meh. Dynastic politics aren't built in happy Princesses.
>>94733451
Actually just be a good husband; reward her friends, treat her nicely, show compassion to her father, and it'll all work out.
Unless you die early and your idiot son fucks everything up.
>>94723892
Was Tony thay much of a dick in this run?
>>94733577
>clones Thor and uses that clone to kill
>first thing he does when they meet up is threaten Thor and his people
He deserved it
