Like people have said, it's a Jojo part 5 reference. Though, the character who does it never really does anything freaky like that again. It's weird because I thought that it was part of his stand, but the kicking was absolutely irrelevant (even to his established character traits as he turned out to be a stand up guy with morals, and was very well adjusted)
