You can inheret baldness genes from either side, but it doesn't mean that you'll be bald just because the genes exist in the genepool. My grandfather on my mom's side is bald, and I have thinning hair, but my siblings do not.

Also, they show Steven age in one episode and he does go bald.

As I say, If you grandfather, uncle, cousin is/is not bald, maybe you will/will not be bald, BUT, if your father is bald, then you're screwed. There's no 50/50 chance. You're going to be bald.
