Pretentious garbage that tries to be more inteligent than it actually is, but falls even below South Park level. Adult animation composed of nothing but cussing and sex jokes is why the genre never rises above its station.

I found hilarious people proclaiming this would revolutionize the genre, but barely anyone remembers it.

1. There was only a single good joke in the entire movie and that was when a meatloaf started singing "I would do anything for love" by Meatloaf.

2. The trailers make it seem like its going to be a parody of "Inanimate Objects are alive" Pixar movies but instead we just get shitty sex jokes, toilet humor, and absolutely absurd religious and political commentary that as others have noted acts like its way more intelligent then it is.

3. The orgy at the end was absolutely disgusting and had practically no comedic value. It was just food having sex for like five minutes, it was horrible. And whats worse it completely shits on its 'yay atheism' message, because the second the gods are beaten, everyone immediately falls into debauchery and mass decadence. It completely undermines whatever message they were going for by literally having society break down into some mass orgy the second society became 'atheist'.

It was just a really bad movie. Not intolerably bad just it completely defied its premise [what if being alive as an inanimate object is horrifying?] in favor of "What if Israel fucked Saudi Arabia?"

I knew it would be shit when they started swearing in the opening song.
Even Shrek did the Disney parody better:

That is not the point I was making, I pointed out that for a movie that aims to be more intellectual than it tries to be, it falls short due to relying on crass humor.

It was dumb, but not worth getting upset over. It was exactly as dumb as everyone knew it would be, so it's not like anyone was tricked.
