Okay, I've been reading this comic for years, and I've kept up recently. I even went back and reread the last several pages just now. But I am in the dark as to what's going on right now.

What exactly is in Kit's lab that would be a problem for Chicadino? That he needs to get? It can't be the God's Blood - he's the one supplying that. Is it the cure? Why would Chicadino need that? And isn't Kit taking that to her father right now anyways? It wouldn't be the sea dragon. Chicadino already got his own blood supply into the city's power grid, so he doesn't need that disabled for anything.

Seriously, what is with the lab right now? I honestly thought from the last page that Kit was going to lock Poppy in the lab so she wouldn't try and stop her like she's doing in the last two panels.

I want to keep reading and care about the story, but the fact that it's been kind of lackluster in terms of pacing/releases and that it's going to switch mediums soon really make me not give a shit. The idea that in order to draw dog people facial expressions you have to look at dog people's facial expressions is idiotic.

The point is that this cliche hentai expression (drunk smile, squashed eyes) does NOT convey the correct expression in this panel, and in general the facial expressions in Poppy O'Possum rely too much on recycling anime expressions.

Anon is saying that Morbi is deriving too heavily from other artists' abstractions. While he does have to apply canid elements, the basic facial structure is essentially human. Instead of interpreting human expressions into his own abstractions, his functional library of symbols is pulling too heavily from other artists, which leads to stuff like anon's pic. I'm assuming the reason they're taking issue with it is because her face is moving in an unnatural way that doesn't just come about from stylization (she's simultaneously intensely furrowing her brow and raising it, or at least getting the eye shape that would come from the latter) and it doesn't convey the desired emotion very well (the sweat drop and eye detail are being used as a crutch since the expression itself is weak).

It's hard to apply this stuff when working with abstract animal designs and people tend to give nonsensical facial expressions a pass, but the criticism is valid here considering the entire panel is placing emphasis on Kit's expression.

Heres my game plan
Land in canopy
Find cheap yet livable housing space
Get job at castle as guard (there's no way they would pass me up because humans are like 2 times there size plus our species is known for agility and athletics)
Things go well for a couple of years
Although folks give you a weird look every now and then its nothing your conserned with
Got promoted as the queens bodyguard
First day of job she asks you to stand outside her room whilst she gets dressed
Easy enough
You hear something crash and call her name
You open the door on,y to find her being strangled
You stop the aggressor right as the guard shows up
They blame you for attempted regicide
You go through a bias court room that sentences you to death
All of canopy gets to watch as your hung on a life tree branch
I'm having second thoughts about living in this unviverse.
