There are a number of cartoons airing that primarily aimed at kids, but have smart writing that allow adults to enjoy them too.
I don't think this is one of those cartoons, but if you like cute characters, you can still enjoy it if you don't mind a lack of substance.

Ruby Gloom was and always will be one of my favorite shows of all time. Although, after a few rewatches I recognized that the writting in general is not very good. Still, it has some great episodes and as a whole is still enjoyable despite the writting.
