She was fine as "the new girl" on the X-Men, I wouldn't call her a Mary Sue but she seemed to get very important for just being somebody that said "Oh Gosh!" or "Tee-hee-hee" but she was still likable unlike Clermont's later childbride inserts (Boom-Boom & Jubilee).

Past few years though she's been insufferable, her whole arc as a teen was finding her confidence as a young woman & X-Men but now that she's achieved it she is arrogant & smarmy.
