>Joan Wayne was born as Joanna Waleski on December 25, 1950 to Jewish parents who had immigrated from Poland to escape Nazi persecution during the war.
>When she was 18 years old her parents took her to see the nation's Capitol. It was a dream come true for young Joanne, as her parents had all but disowned their home and country and so had always instilled in her the value of patriotism and the price of freedom.

>Then, tragedy struck. Joanne's parents were gunned down by hooded assailants in front of the Lincoln Memorial, who then whisked her away into an underground tunnel where a black truck with a covered bed lie waiting for her.

>After what felt like hours of riding through pitch darkness, two hulking guards grabbed her by the ankles and yanked her from the bed of the truck!
>She was taken through a door which led down a corridor to another door, then another, then another, until finally she stepped foot into a blindingly white room. A foreign voice spoke to her--the first words she'd heard in hours!

Rumors of the sinister rogue's current whereabouts had been circulating for years, but here he was--not in Spain! Not in Brazil! 18-year old all-American Joanne simply couldn't believe her eyes, for here this Nazi rat fink was, alive and well and operating out of a laboratory in the US of A!

But after McCarthyism's efforts to unmask socialists in 1950s proved ultimately fruitless, greater measures would need to be taken to ensure the future safety of America's freedom.
>He further explained that he and the group he was part of--a think tank called "The Silver 6", made up exclusively of former Nazi scientists under the employ of the United States' government--had been watching Joanne for some time. Her parents were just two of literally thousands of Socialist spies disgusing themselves and hiding amongst good, honest, God-fearing Americans. But although Joanne was raised by traitors, she was different. The Silver 6 were impressed by her boundless patriotism... and decided it MUST be utilized for the good of America!

>By this time, Joanne had grown weak. Whatever the doctor injected her with had clearly taken its toll, and her vision began to dim.

>The guards led her to a table where they made her to lie down, while the doctor attached electrodes to her legs, arms, and torso. The electrodes were attached to a large machine that was whirring and buzzing and printing out sheet upon sheet of strange sequences of numbers. The doctor took one of the sheets and pored over it quickly. He nodded and handed it to one of the guards, seemingly content with whatever meaning the code conveyed. Then he turned to Joanne and spoke:

>"You muscht be getting thirsty, dear. Vould you like a drink?"

>Not waiting for an answer, the doctor produced a bubbling bottle of pink fluid and pressed the tip of it to Joanne's lips. Her vision and her consciousness were fading and there was no way she could argue with the fiend, so she gulped the foul-smelling liquid down. A burning sensation arose in her chest and she could feel certain areas of her body changing... growing bigger... stronger, even!

>"Vhen you avake you vill have no memory of your mutter and vater. You vill no longer be Joanne Waleski, but Joan Vayne. You vill in fact remember nothing of your past except for one ting--ze most important ting, vhich is dat you love your country. Oh, how you love your country! And you vill fight, dear. You vill fight until Socialism and every threat to ze American people is erased. You vill fight for liberty and justice--for all! And you vill not lose this fight, oh no. For you shall be called..."

>Struggling to keep her eyes open, Joanne prayed one last prayer to the Almighty. For if what the man said about her parents was true, she wanted forgiveness for ever calling herself their daughter.
