The hype needs to build. People didn't talk this much about Rick and Morty after the pilot, this is the start of season 3 for that.

This show has plenty of positive hype but it needs at least a good season to confirm it as good. Give it time. There will be periods where the board is flooded with ducks and idiots are complaining about all the threads. Then it will die down and the next show will get to do that.

I honestly really like the direction they're taking it, with the focus now on family and relationships rather than monster of the week (even though that'll be there and it seems like it will be lots of fun). I was very gun shy about the idea because of how other networks have been handling their reboots (fuck you, CN), but it seems like a beloved property was finally given to people who actually respected it.

Here's hoping it keeps up.

I have to watch a *lot* of Micky Mouse Clubhouse because of my kids, and Donald sounds like himself and is completely intelligible even though most of the dialogue is meaningless. But now in this one, where I'm supposed to understand and pay attention to what he's saying, the voice is more exaggerated to the point that I can't make all of
his lines out even after multiple rewatches. It's just a strange change to make.

She was a recurring character in the Scrooge comics, and even had a few spin offs of her own.

The reason she wasn't in the original was mostly because Donald had been made so minor that introducing another character strictly tied to him would have been pointless. But now he seems like he'll play a major role, and the focus is on family and relationships. I'd be pretty surprised if she didn't at a bare minimum have a few cameos, and maybe even play a good sized role in a subplot.

It was passable, but didn't really stand out either. The writing is too quippy for it's own good and detracts from the adventure. All the characters felt pretty generic, except for Glomgold.

The pacing and the ration between adventure and comedy was much better in the old show.
