How do we save modern animation?
Just because the Simpsons fails at being good doesn't mean other cartoons are bad.
For example, Steven Universe has some pretty good fight animation

all hope is lost.

How is realistic expression worse than over the top?
Are you perhaps Japanese?

While we're on the subject, I'd just like to say that The Simpsons is underrated in terms visuals. They did a really good job at making so many distinct, inventive, and memorable scenes/expressions; the guys behind the series obviously really knew how to do staging and storyboarding. If you want proof of this, check out how many reaction images the show spawned. Just so much of it is highly photogenic and vivid.

Honestly SU fights being good are like an equants, you need a good director and story board artist

>watch a simpson episode lately
>Bart is fucking crying like a emotional sissy
Jesus christ
>>94645621
my man
>>94645737
I'm pretty sure Bart cried a few times in the golden years.
Find a way that is cheap AND looks good.
>>94646107
That would be anime then, but it doesn't seem like most people want that. They could also stop spending trillions on salaries for voice actors and writers and producers and whoever else.
>>94645737
So I guess you never watched Bart Gets An F, huh?
>>94645415
Krusty is supposed to be over the top though that's his thing.
>>94645737
I need to know which episode you watched, please

COOL STORY BRO

Stop shilling for your shitty unoriginal show, Sugar.
Current Simpsons is like a million times better than the alternatives.
American animation is at his lowest point
>>94646686
it depends on what you mean by "current", because the seasons /co/ likes to shit on are actually good, while s20 onwards is debatable
>>94645513
I don't hate computer animation, it's natural progression but all the copying and pasting models has made all the faces get Family Guy syndrome where every character stands at that 2/3s angle and only move their arm and eye brows. Look at Megas XLR, computer animation faces can be hilarious

>OP would like a serious discussion
>this guy posts bait
summarized the board desu
>>94646215
That scene was memorable in Bart Gets an F because the character is usually a headstrong brat who gets sad sometimes but never outright sobs. Way to be such an autist this didn't register for you.
>>94647465
which episode was the anon watching goddamn it
>>94645323
Anime. More anime!
>>94647423
>every character stands at that 2/3s angle
That's been normal in American animation for as long it has existed.
>>94647549
Unironically correct

Make a Gravity Falls movie.
Work ethic or back to hand drawn.
For example, Superjail is hand drawn and it looks amazing

So is Superjail any good?
>>94648043
If you're a fan of good animation and ultra violence, it's the best cartoon ever made.
>>94648059
Nice, guess I'll give it a try
>>94648043
Yes.
