>Amateur mistake
Why would you need to go into the woods to study etymology?
>>94641873
Because Surma is a liberal arts student.
Also, we have to protect that smile.
>>94641806
>Cabin
>Wood isolation
>For a month
Are they going to fuck?
>>94641873
She probably thought she'd be going among the Indians and learning how their words came to be.
>>94641806
Young Tony is cute. Where did it all go wrong?
>>94641806
When are they going to fuck?
>>94642026
Probably when his wife was some kind of shitty monster girl that dies when you fuck it
>>94642026
His waifu pratically comited the slowest sudoku ever.
Couldn't resist.
>>94641948
so if tony and don had gone as planned, were they going to fuck?
>>94642224
Nobody can resist the Don
>>94641918
>Also, we have to protect that smile.
This. Close the ranks, boys, girls and hirs.
>>94641806
You just KNOW they banged.
So they're going to study insects?
I wonder if there's some sort of link to these guys
>>94642693
Why'd they cut up his face, anyway?
>>94642752
because they fucking could, because he's a little bitch!
Nah, maybe they gave him a kiss...but you know...mandibles.
>>94642752
>>94642781
I think it's just one of the "physical tolls" he's talking about
I mean, the text is set right next to him bleeding from his face, so that's probably what Tom wants us to think
>>94642693
RIP, dat cute face
>>94642803
Yeah, I get that. I'm just wondering why there would be a physical toll, and why it'd involve something like that.
>>94641806
Are you for real Tom. How would surma deal with etymology all the time for the court. How did they not mention the nature even once more in their preparation. How did dony or tony not tell her anything about what she'd have to do if she wanted to help. Fuck you Tom. I hope brownposters infect whatever you browse.
>>94642224
No one can resist DonOR HIS SCOTLAND YARD
>>94642817
Probably similar reasons there were "physical tolls" to contact the outside world
I don't understand it either, but then again, i'm still trying to figure out why he chose to cut his right hand when he's a righty
>>94642817
Probbaly some kind of blood sacrifice to anciant elder gods
>You want to talk to us, I want your flesh. Not all of it. Just some of it. We got a deal?
>dude, can you believe these humans fall for this shit, hahaha!
>>94642824
>How did they not mention the nature even once more in their preparation.
Are you asking why the socially inept/shy kid didn't talk much to the rando girl (mutual friend? acquaintance? Egger's girlfriend?) prior to the trip? He probably only spoke the bare minimum.
>>94642817
maybe he has to injure himself a certain way so it has a certain meaning to it
sorta like why he had to cut off and/or skin his own hand
>>94642934
>>94642817
You can see what happened in the page, anons. His face was torn apart when he entered the spirit world/whatever.
He only had to cut his hand off to make the spiritphone
>>94642693
I bet "what i was looking for" is something that's going to be mentioned in this chapter
Keep your heads up, people
>>94642291
>hirs
kys
>>94642693
Lowkey want to tickle his feet
>>94642889
I was more thinkind Donald would tell her the minimum.
>>94642752
I don't think they cut up his face, but that, through the process of being transported there, his physical form got damaged. Like a borked teleportation that didn't happen right. Or like when you're downloading an image and when it's saved and you open it up, the entire bottom half of the image is glitched out and missing because your internet connection got messed up midway through the download.
>>94641806
CUTE
>>94641806
It took me a while to get it, but I when I did, I laughed as much as tony.
>>94641806
In the FOREST, Surma?
Really?
You're as stupid as your daughter.
>>94643219
I want to agree, but then how come he wasn't damaged worse?
It's not like his face got rearranged wrong, or you can see it in other parts of him
Nope, just looks like he got slashed in various places on his face
>>94642693
Maybe they just take on relevant forms to whoever they appear to. Since he was trying to resurrect his wife, they'd naturally appear in a form he associated with her.
>>94643723
Luck? Imagine traveling through a worm hole and tiny bit of reality blows up in your face. Not big enough to kill you but enough to melt the flesh or something.
>>94641806
I'm right there with Tony. My laugh was laugh was hearty.
>>94642817
Something about how when you tear reality, reality tears you back. Or at least it does the way Tony does it.
>>94641949
there's hundreds of languages in brazil so this is a pretty fair assumption
>>94643767
But it doesn't look like his flesh was melted at all, just look like cuts, at least in present-day Tony
I think i have an explanation, though
While crossing whichever barrier we're talking about, his body may have been completely dis-and-reassembled. And while doing that, something in the coding was wrong, so some small parts of his skin didn't know where it should connect with other pieces
Still can't figure why it only affected his face, though. If my thinking is correct, you'd have thought he'd end up with his pants morphed with his knee or something
>>94644072
Kat probably fucked Tony the second he did that laugh.
>>94644518
Or, better yet, leaving her lesbian purity more or less intact, she gave him a blowjob.
>>94642752
>>94644294
I thought his current look is more the result of actual physical injuries. Like his nose is clearly broken - it may have been the case of simply falling on the ground like in the fourth panel here >>94642693, his lip scar is a result of Zimmy's punch, and everything else is rapid aging due to survival in the wilderness or a visual metaphor of how broken he is inside after this tragic event with Surma's "resurrection".
>>94641806
why does surma already have a hot mom body in the fourth panel
it's not fair
>>94642114
doing gods work anon
>>94644671
I thought Zimmy's punch broke his nose, not the lip
>>94641873
I have a better question, you guys. Wouldn't an etymology student have realized the difference?
>>94646015
Maybe she's an aspiring etymology student and doesn't actually know much.
>>94646361
>>94646015
If she were an etymology student, wouldn't she already be going on the trip?
>>94645014
There's a page in which he explicitly says that it was Zimmy (though he obviously doesn't know her name) that gave him that scar.
>>94641873
The Amazon? It'd the chance of a grad-student's lifetime- a massive number of isolated groups of common origin.
>>94646015
These are all British people from different regions. The Carver-father is probably a social mumbler. (Surma's Cornish, for God's sake.) She gets a pass on this one.
>>94644072
>>94644518
It was Surma stretching the kinks out too, anon.
At the end of this story, Kat builds a time machine and crashes this scene with a good barber-bot, some hairspary, clippers, and lots of booze.
>or just heads over to the carver apartment with a bad barber-bot, a hairbrush and lots of booze
>>94647351
>Surma's Cornish
Jesus Christ.
As someone who has moved to Cornwall in the past five years, there is absolutely nothing appealing about a Cornish accent. That's an instant boner killer.
NERD JOKES
>>94647351
>>94647749
Surma's from Yorkshire.
>>94642248
No one's slick as the Don.
No one can program the Aether looke the Don.
"I USE MAGIC FOR ALL OF MY PIPE RETRIEVAL"
My what a guy that Donald.
>>94647230
Yeah, that's right, just a few pages later
But another thing, there's this page, where he's also got a black eye, and this is before Zimmy hit her
So my idea of the skin not connecting properly doesn't work, after all.
>>94648198
better pic
>>94648198
did you say
zimmy?
>>94648231
man I forgot about that golden reaction pic
>>94641806
BORING.
Lesbians when?
>>94648198
That third monster thing is Coyote.
>>94650703
Worst meme.
>>94641949
>>94644167
For people into that sort of thing, there was an interesting thread on /his/ about one of these tribes last year.

>>94646015
I'm a language student and I mishear people all the time.
>>94643931
>My laugh was laugh
Well I should certainly hope so.
>>94641806
I left off Gunnerkrigg a long while back. A bit after Tony had his heart to heart with father with glasses.
EEEEeeever retard in the comments was hating on him even whenever he was caring for his daughter by putting reasonable restrictions and punishments.
What's the general consensus on him now?
>>94654433
We always loved Tony here on 4chan.Particularly because Annie's humiliation was delicious to behold.
>>94654564
>Annie's humiliation was delicious to behold.
>>94654433
It's pretty complicated. A lot of the shit that happened was because of the Court, psychopomps and having nobody he could talk to after the loss of his wife and becoming a single parent to a child he believed blames him for the loss of her mother.
And like you said, he returned home to find his daughter had been cheating her schoolwork for years, almost died twice to the forest creatures she plays with and see her wearing his dead wife's makeup. Of course he's going to put a stop to all that until he's sure things are safe for her.
It's not malice and he even risked his life standing up to Coyote to ensure her safety. Still, Annie has a lot of issues because of his distantness to her while Donny and Kat get along with her. They both need to work things out.
>>94654721
Don't mind them. There's an artist that's all about disturbing fetish porn of Gunnerkrigg and people dragged the joke on for well over a year.
Did somebody say Annie's father complex?
>>94642840
First time in weeks since I laughed out loud.
>>94655037
Not nearly as crippling as his daughter complex. But it'll get there when he calls Anne Surma
>>94655037
HOT
