I grew up loving this show, and now as an adult I can only withstand it for a few episodes, making me binge it would be torture.
The fact that all the background/side characters are incredibly retarded becomes frustrating. The comic is so well done that it achieves to catch this same feel after reading more than one issue.

It's like a drug, good in small dosis.

It's a mixed bag. There are few amazing episodes, but the rest range between mildly annoying to unbearable.

Nickelodeon should have allowed more episodes set in space.

Back when it first came out? It was wonderful. Catered to my preteen edginess and portrayed humanity to be as pathetic as I saw it. Some of it is cute, but the overabundance of the stuff can be tiresome.

That said, I feel Zim and Dib are at their best when they're trying to beat eachother at something. That razor-thin line between best friend and mortal enemy is what makes their relationship stand out, and it would be hard to maintain that dynamic if someone threw romance into the mix.

As a show it does pretty ok in my opinion. The concept of everyone except for maybe for or five people being a moron wears thin after a while, hour from what I gather it's has something to do with a chemical released into the atmosphere or something. As a character Zim is amusing but could definitely stand to be tweaked some. The over the top reactions are funny in small doses but can become annoying pretty quickly.
