Everyone who has an opinion (even negative) get in here and give a retrospective.

Was space that bad? Did you like the finale? Did you hate Mordecai and/or Rigby? Was there a character you wanted more of? Margaret or CJ?? etc.

Margaret was objectively better than CJ, in-universe and as seen by the viewer. She rarely was the one viewing a misunderstanding and getting pissy about it, she rarely if ever put anyone in danger, and she had her priorities straight as she went on. CJ was constantly treated as in the wrong and as a cunt, it's weird that in the end of each episode except the Season 6 finale that they twisted it as her being in the right except when she attacked random people. She's an emotional mess that wasn't fun to watch in a way Mordecai might've been, she was a dangerous jerk.

Waifufags are blind.

That's because that ship is retarded.
>>
>>94594609
Space was good, I loved the mantis planet episode and the finale was just perfect.

The low points for me were the middle seasons with the increasingly repetitive plots about Mordecai's love life and some of Season 7 with episodes like Sleep Cycle that didn't even try to shake up the classic formula of "mordecai and rigby do something stupid and get a mystical solution from someone else at the park." Some jokes and ideas later on just felt dry compared to the first few seasons.

Looking back, maybe they should have finished it off earlier

I liked Sleep Cycle very much compared to the rest in that season, but you're right that it wasn't that discrete with the formula. I think it had been awhile since they did that specific thing though.

I guess I'm fine with the formula, but also that episode seemed like a fresh return to their creative side (even if the catalyst was formulaic) and seemed like a nice surprise after S6.
>>
Regular Show, after the first 2 seasons, struck me as a kind of series where someone gets a bad end, and I don't mean a heroic sacrifice, I mean the kind of bad end like future Mordecai in the movie picking up Benson and throwing him at Pops.

Not necessarily that though, maybe something like Mordecai and Rigby growing apart and maybe one moving away, but under decent enough circumstances where they might stay in contact.

Can't say I loved them all but I certainly didn't hate any of them. There were some forgettable ones, and a handful that felt a little too similar to something they'd already done in earlier seasons. But still, the highs were high and I always got at least one good laugh out of every 10 minutes.

I worked on the show and think every season had great episodes. My favorite seasons are 1, 3, 5, and 7 but all the other ones had great stuff. I only really disliked the Margaret/CJ stuff during the "chopper party" episode and the season 6 finale. Season 8 was fun when it was a star trek-style thing where they went on crazy missions on different planets. It was less fun when it got into heavy continuity, but the ending scenes made it all worth it.

First two seasons were awesome. The show got toned down in the later seasons but I still liked the relationship episodes, Mordecai made me cringe very hard many times, but I like that kind of comedy anyway. The last two seasons were awful except for a few episodes, and by the space episodes it seemed like they tried to jump the shark as hard as they could but I still felt it was very awful and the final episode didn't impact me. My brother on the other hand almost cried.

I kind of missed the original interaction and their changes up until 'Steak Me Amadeus'. That episode wasn't different in any way from your afternoon telenovela.

Also, posting one moment that made rage, cringe and laugh.

It was an equal issue based on human emotion and instigation.

Rigby wanted bro time and got irrational because his one friend chumped him out for a lady who back then, wasn't interested and it was clear to him which made it more annoying that he got chumped.

Mordecai couldn't see that, and wasn't aware of the issue of chumping Rigby, and just saw it as average instigating that Rigby does every day.

He didn't mean to kill Rigby, just angrily shove him. It was both their faults but it wasn't a wrong or right situation, just mistakes.

I only watched up until S5 or so before getting bored, the problem with the series is that it was too formulaic but this wasn't noticeable until later seasons. In the first seasons, you could kinda see Mordecai and Rigby adjusting to work life and the evolving relationship with their co-workers. Their dynamics with other park employees was great, Skips would get annoyed with them sometimes but still helped them, Muscle Man and Hi-5 ghost didn't like them, Benson didn't hang out with them. The problem is that when these dynamics evolved they just felt the same when everyone started getting along. Introducing Thomas would have been good if they just focused more on making him a new part of the park mechanic rather than an asspull when they didn't know what to do with him. Problem with the shipping on the series is that it was never given proper development or conflict for it to become interesting.
>>
I liked the first 3ish seasons, got pretty boring after that. I forget when I fell off but it was in 2013 I'm pretty sure.
Glad the show got a nifty ending but I don't know if I'll go back to it and finish things, the characters didn't grab me enough and that seemed to be what they were mostly focusing on when I dropped off.
>>
>>94601836
Thomas was just an intern joke, he wasn't ever supposed to be anything beyond a background character at the butt of jokes, as the crew said, "we've all been that kinda guy". Then later in the writers room someone said "dude..... SPY" and they liked it.

I wish he was never written off.

>minty lewis wrote the eileen plan
>an episode that makes eileen top tier person and rigby sulks about not being smart enough for her and starts his season wide arc of being pussywhipped
It's funny, it's clear the outline was just "Rigby wants to start high school again after motivation from Eileen" but the episode focused more on Rigby wanting it because he felt bad in her light and in the end they tacked on "do it for you and me" rather than that being the thing they focused on anyway. The entire "Rigby you lied to me?" and running away before he could say anything was the dumbest pity writing I've ever seen. At least Mordecai asking if he could have the food was funny.

The movie suffered a ton from CN constantly saying no to everything and changing the run time. It had so much potential to blow everything out of the water and deserve to be called a movie, in the end it was an average episode extended a few times. It was fine but damn, they had so much cut down.

It certainly isn't very eye catching, and it seems very tame considering it's following a show where even when they didn't go to space they were fighting mystical arcade demons and shit. In the trailer it's just "dude he's a dad" and "dude actual weed lmao". For the creatures we do see they don't seem that antagonistic, except maybe the ghost girl but I can see her being a Marceline thing.

I'm fine with mundane but don't get more boring than King of the Hill's worst episodes please.

Regular Show comics are pretty great. This was my favorite.
>>
>>94634361
They came up with the idea later on. Aside from the "Momm" thing which was rewritten as a hint, the only actual hint to his identity was in Thomas Fights Back where he was very capable of being smart and infiltrating places. Also in that episode he went by Nicholas at East Pines, which was pretty neat.

I agree though, him being shifty in the background would've been a great decision.

They really missed an opportunity with Pops, they said they had his endgame in mind since around S5 or so maybe, but weren't sure how to hint at it. They could've done Pop's Favorite Planet early on using different elements, like having him get mad at something and levitate, or have an episode a bit ahead of "favorite planet" where he's looking forward to seeing it again rather than just dumping everything in that 1 episode.

I liked the Regular Show, and didn't think space was all that bad. Kind of different, and the tone of the show changed during it, but still entertaining.

Worst part of the finale for me was The hybrid kids. I hate hybrids. , but 'Heroes' was just about the perfect ending song.

But yeah, Margaret should have been endgame. I would have loved a season where, instead of space, Mordecai and Rigby start seriously thinking about their futures. Maybe one leaves the park while the other gets promoted, or they start a company or go back to college. Really end on the theme of two regular dudes.

Heroes was good, Starman or Changes would have worked also for Bowie songs

I've thought the same thing for a long time, I had envisioned a finale where Mordecai gets a new job and Rigby tries to keep him around, in the end Mordecai does leave and Rigby accepts it and also does something, like starting back to high school or getting another job or something. Starla and Mitch go on a honeymoon maybe.

It would've been a mundane and regular finale focusing on the characters.

this show was good replacement for when Gym Partner got cancelled. They both had good kinds of character progression season by season

Adam goes through a very noticable change over four seasons

>Mordecai leaves
Honestly, I think Mordecai would have stayed, while Eileen would have pushed Rigby forwards.
>>
>>94636385
But Mordecai was always the one saying they needed to take things seriously, the one with art dreams, etc. Plus in that one S7 episode there were 2 scenes with Mordecai wanting to move on.

Got bored at the third space episode, cant even remember anything from it.

What happend in the end of the series? I guess Rigby stays with Eileen, but what about Mord? Do all go back to earth and just keep living?

It's shit fuck all these /co/mrade cucks that thinks it's good just because of a fag limey song at the end

Is this what cartoons have become!? Whatever happened to the dreams of Walt Disney, Ralpha Bakshi, Don Bluth and John Kricfalusi (yeah I spell the whole name, asshole), is the dream dead? I'll never respect this show. You don't have any real argument you degenerates

Third was where they're introduced to the space tree I think. Halfway in the season the space tree gets attacked by [shitty cliche] villain, and the guys get in their domes and are on a mission to figure out Pop's shitty cliche backstory.

At the end the villain kills everybody except Mordecai and Rigby, Pops sacrifices himself and kills the bad guy and everything is restored. They get back to earth while Heroes plays, Mordecai and Rigby leave the Park with Mordo pursuing art again and Rigby a dad with Eileen. Skips stays at the park and runs an auto shop, Muscle Man is a dad with Starla, Fives is a DJ with that one girl, and Benson is still Park manager with his GF from S7.

During the montage 2 statues are given to Pops and his dad in the park who both die within 25 years. Also Mordecai fucks a random bat chick and has ugly kids that hate life and probably their dad. They might enjoy sucking their mom's teets though.

Mordecai talks a big game, but Rigby actually went back to school.

I'm not saying Mordecai would stay in the same position, I could see him replacing Benson when the latter becomes a househusband for scientist wife.

This show was crazy with random continuity.

Benson was asking for it. He was blaming them for being stranded when it wasn't his fault and they, including him, had an equal part in pressing that button.

They've never attacked him I think unless it was warranted. Never a "no way fag fuck you I'm not rakin those leaves" thing.

I'm surprised they made it 8 seasons with a setting of a boring park, but I'm glad it did. I liked the park specific episodes a lot, especially when they talked about the job itself. It's a unique thing, just so mundane. I know they had a supernatural thing every time but the underlying setting was nice.

I wish we had more of the coffee shop, but I know that comes with more Eileen.

I fucking hate the kind of people who complain about King of the Hill being boring. You want excitement? Go stick your dick in an electrical socket.

Hmm, I've been an avid fan of the show since Season 3 and while some episodes were definitely not that great, I was actually pretty happy with how it ended. It felt very Digimon Adventure 02.

I won't lie though, I had pretty mixed feelings about the last season. On the one hand, it felt rushed and kind of disjointed with the rest of the series but on the other it seemed to go out in a blaze of glory and by the time the final few episodes aired I got pretty emotional. Especially during Meet the Seer and the last episode because all of the characters just seemed to be so distressed and aware that they were coming to an end and Pops' sacrifice was also pretty heavy as well.

But seeing everyone's stories get wrapped up to David's Bowie's Heroes was pretty bittersweet and also pretty badass. Again, this ending felt pretty rushed but the fact that they were actually allowed to end the series on the creators terms is pretty phenomenal. And I'm happy that we got to see an ending for everyone's story instead of having the show being cancelled and losing them all in the process. Some people are gonna be mad and some people are just not gonna like it in general but seeing the creators final say on the conclusion of the series is pretty awesome and this show holds a dear place in my heart.

And hey- there's always reruns.

No man I mean the episodes that were badly boring, but they were few and far between, in fact I have no direct examples. I like the series.
>>
I thought the Spark arc was creative and interesting, but they didn't really delve into it that much and then even got interrupted with the Anti Pops story. The whole space colony stuff, the terraforming, etc. It's a shame we never actually got to the terraforming.

I loved that one. The song was amazing.
