I'm guessing it has something to do with the CGI. When they shot Civil War, the costume they used had really good lines, but they were mostly taken out with the CGI. Real shame if you ask me. The Homecoming costume went with a brighter red and blue and made the lines super hard to see, which I'm sure contributed to the suit looking slightly worse post-CGI than the Civil War suit.

WHY THE FUCK IS EVERYONE CGI NOW? I can get doing it when he's flipping or being launched by a hit (even then, wire work is still a thing) but just when he's standing around at the airport? When he's running at the opposing team? It's fucking ridiculous.

I like how Homecoming even drew attention to it; Parker spends a while putting on his costume, and it looks like a regular suit, then he clicks a button and instantly turns into a cartoon character (in-universe, the suit sealing itself).
