The whole Chevy Chase thing on Community was a disaster. And I'm not a huge fan of Chevy, but I feel Harmon was really the problem here. He's so self-sabotaging, it was only a matter of time.

I like Dan but I had been listening to Harmontown for years. It's Justin I don't really know anything about.

Dan is a pretty despicable human who likes to build things around him and then tear it to shreds. It's his way or no way and the few people consistently in his life have to work around him more than with him.
He seems to be doing better after his divorce with Erin and seems pretty happy(better?)with his new gf and therapist but I'm just going off of Harmontown eps and I don't listen often anymore.

Somehow, after the 'best of' dumpster fire that was S4, Sony brought back Dan for one last go. Then the show got cancelled after S5 and Yahoo!screen saved it for S6 before YS imploded

The problem is it sucked even worse when he came back. He decided he didnt want to make the show the same way anymore, and that the characters should go "back to basics".

Britta is a great example of this. She was boring as hell in S1, it was S2 and 3 where they found a good angle for her and she became really funny. Dan decided to take her back to S1 for no reason. He did it with the rest of the cast but its the most notable with her.

Then you have the dark serious tone, pushed relationship drama, rotating cast members, killing of characters. They have one episode like the old ones, Ass Crack Bandit, but then ruin it at the end by having Pierce die. Like Harmon was going "That old show is dead, dont ever think its coming back"
