Strange is more of a cleric with a slight dip in wizard. His power is more tied to his loyalty to the Vishanti and calling on their powers in his spells. Hist most common is conjuring the power of Cytorrak. And they will occasionally get pissed off at him and his abilities are incredibly reduced until he appeases them again.

Seconding this, Cleric of Vishanti and/or Eternity.

Or if you want to get more specific about it a cleric of Agomotto and Hoggoth. Gods of magic.

He also has a nice collection of epic level wondrous items that make him a beast when he decides to use them together.

White Witch of the Legion of Super-Heroes works explicitly on D&D style rules. She has to prepare each spell in advance, and I'm fairly certain she has a limited number of spell slots too. The reference is solidified with Legionnaires actually playing literal D&D around the time she's introduced.

Also, pretty sure Wondy counts as a paladin. The non-shit type of paladin who's actually allowed to do stuff without the DM being a twat.

ironman is easy if you talk with your dm. for people who dont know, you arent limited to JUST whats on the page. you can talk with your dm to mix classes or use a weird race or have a weird ability or weapon or whatever as long as you both work them out to be balanced.

you could be a lizard wizard who gets buffed when he eats flies but has shit movement speed or has shit stats if he doesnt eat flies. you could be a pelican monk and have the story be that you got stuck as your spirit animal but your human shaped spirit can still punch and kick.

ironman is easy because you can just be a wizard artificer who has, before the adventure started, created a power suit out of some kind of golem or warforged and gains great strength and defense and has access to powerful projectile spells and bombs and such, but can only be in the suit for a limited time, after which he reverts to normal stats or it requires extremely rare magical fuel so you can only use the suit for emergencies or whatever you can think of. thats the beauty of these games
